ABOUT ME
I’m an experienced ceramic artist who has taught, exhibited and sold functional and sculptural ceramic work part-time for 35 years, the last 8 through Edgewood Orchard Galleries in Door County Wisconsin. I studied English and art as an undergrad at Augustana College where I read books and took all the ceramics classes. Not too long after, I really missed making things and enrolled in grad school at the University of Iowa. There I earned an MFA while studying under Chuck Hindes and Bunny McBride.
I primarily work with low fire earthenware that I fire two or three times in an electric kiln to about 1,950 degrees F. I like playing around with surfaces and color and use a variety of layered underglazes and glazes.
